SEAS Price Increase

SEAS price increase and statement from Seas, “Effective at the end of February 2008, prices on SEAS products will increase approximately 15% for Prestige drivers, and 10% for Excel drivers. These price increases are due, in large part, to the continuing drop in value of the US dollar against the Norwegian Krone. In the last year alone, the dollar has dropped by nearly 20%. Additionally, the cost of shipping from Europe to the USA has increased dramatically, due to increased energy costs. SEAS has taken numerous internal measures to control costs wherever possible. However, SEAS will never sacrifice quality for the sake of lower prices. When dollar exchange rates become more favorable, SEAS will readjust prices to reflect these changes.”
New prices will be in effect on March 1st. If you’ve been holding off on that Seas kit, now is the time to buy.

SEAS Exotic 8" Fullrange Driver

The F8 X1 has arrived. Buy the X1 today!
Seas is currently displaying the first driver in the new Exotic line, the F8 8" full-range. Download PDF for spec sheet and frame dimensions.
The F8 boasts many new components, developed specifically for this driver. A lightweight paper cone embedded with papyrus fibers gives an extremely smooth, extended frequency response. A powerful Alnico magnet system with a long gap is mated to a short, under-hung voice coil for linear performance and high sensitivity. A new surround made from lightweight foam rubber provides superior damping to corrugated paper surrounds, while maintaining very low moving mass. And finally, an all-new spider design using an extremely open weave impregnated with a special resin, virtually eliminates distortion caused by friction noise and reflection.

Tymphany LAT 250 are here!

Just in time for the holidays! The Tymphany LAT250 Subwoofer has arrived!
The patented LAT 250 is designed to provide strong bass performance in a new vibration-free, cylindrical form factor. The driver may be configured for use in sealed, vented, bandpass or open-baffle enclosures, and provides high bass output from a very compact transducer. In typical applications, mechanical vibration is more than 90% lower than comparable loudspeakers, even at full output. The LAT 250 employs dual voice coils, and impedance configurations from 2 Ohm to 16 Ohm are available per customer requirements.
Paired with the Peerless Lifestyle driver, the Tymphany LAT, is an ideal solution for lifestyle consumer electronics products such as flat panel TVs and sound bars, MP3 and cell phone docking stations, multimedia PCs and other small devices.

New Peerless 830970

Features include:
- A Neodymium motor structure and double-venting system helps keep dynamic range intact so the transducer can handle more power and dissipate excess heat efficiently.
- An anodized aluminum dome provides superior sound dispersion and off-axis response.
- A semi-progressive surround reduces distortion, especially at high output through long excursion.
- The drivers’ direct connected dome dust cap (connected to the magnet system voice coil) improves dispersion at high frequencies, providing superior sound on the high notes.
- The inserted copper cap on the pole piece ensures control of the system impedance, thereby extending the upper frequency range.
