Accuton C173-6-191 + C25-6-012 2way Crossover Design

This 2way design uses the world-famous Accuton 7″ ceramic cone bass-midrange for small bookshelf monitors and the 1″ ceramic dome tweeter (currently on special order basis) crossed over at about 1.8 kHz. Output in the upper 80 dB range. Impedance between 6 to 8 ohm. Good phase characteristics across the crossover region.

Anechoic (flat response)

Woofer: 2.0 cubic foot vented, single straight vent 3″ x 6″ length

Crossover points about 280 Hz and 3kHz.  High parts count on crossover. Woofer in inverse polarity relative to tweeter and midrange.

Anechoic (flat response).

Woofer: 1.0 cubic foot, TWO 2″ straight vents x 7″ length [1.5 cubic foot with same vents for extended bass shelf]

Midrange: 0.2 cubic foot sealed

Additional Notes: Crossover points about 400 Hz and 9.0 kHz. Low nominal output ~ 81 dB. Two smaller value hi-pass caps and large midrange cap. Significant padding in hi-pass circuit.  Note the woofer is in reverse polarity relative to the mid and tweeter.
